Temperatures can fluctuate between 41°F and 23°F (5°C and -5°C). The wind is very strong, making the wind chill feel even lower. Thermal clothing is mandatory.
Departures are generally between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM. For Lake 69, the departure is much earlier, around 5:00 AM.
The dry season, from May to October, is best. You will find sunny days, blue skies, and safe trails for trekking.
In Chavín, the signal is stable. At Lake 69 and Pastoruri, there is no signal or it is very weak. Enjoy the total disconnection with nature.
