Is it necessary to acclimatize before taking tours in Huaraz?
Yes, it’s essential. Huaraz is located at over 3,000 meters above sea level. We recommend resting on the first day and taking traditional tours (such as to Llanganuco Lagoon) before attempting more demanding routes like Laguna 69 or snow-capped peaks.
What payment methods do they accept, and is it safe to pay online?

What happens if I suffer from altitude sickness (soroche)?

What level of fitness do I need to do the walks?

What is the best time to travel to Huaraz?
The ideal season (known as the “Andean summer”) is between May and September. During these months there is less chance of rain and the skies are usually clear, offering spectacular views of the Cordillera Blanca.
What's the weather like on the tours?
The weather in the mountains is very changeable. Mornings and evenings are usually quite cold, while at midday, under the sun, it feels hot. Therefore, we recommend dressing in layers to adapt to the temperature changes throughout the day.
What clothes and accessories should I bring on excursions?
We suggest you bring comfortable and warm clothing (layering system), a windproof or waterproof jacket, trekking shoes with good grip, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and a small backpack for water and snacks.
Do you rent mountaineering equipment if I don't have my own?
Yes, at Andina Travel Peru we make logistics easy for you. If you’re planning multi-day treks (like the Santa Cruz trek) or need technical equipment, we can help you rent trekking poles, sleeping bags, tents, and more.
Is the hike to Laguna 69 very difficult?
It’s a moderate to challenging hike that takes about 3 hours to ascend. It doesn’t require technical experience, but good prior acclimatization (at least 2 days in Huaraz) and a reasonable level of fitness are necessary due to the altitude (4,600 meters above sea level).
What do your tour packages usually include?
Our tours include round-trip tourist transportation, pick-up from your hotel (city center), and accompaniment by a certified official tourist or high-mountain guide. Specific details vary depending on the package you choose.
Does the price include entrance fees to Huascarán National Park?
Entrance fees to natural areas and communities are generally not included in the tour price, as they are paid directly in cash at the control booths. Our team will inform you of the exact amounts at the time of your booking.
Do you offer private and group tour options?
That’s right! You can join our daily group tours (ideal for meeting other travelers and saving money) or request a private, personalized tour if you’re traveling with family or prefer to manage your own time.
Where do the daily tours start and end?
For your convenience, most of our tours begin with a pick-up from your hotel (if it’s located in downtown Huaraz). At the end of the tour, we’ll drop you off in a safe, central area just a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas.
How can I secure my reservation with Andina Travel Peru?
You can easily book by contacting us via WhatsApp or email. We require a deposit to secure your spot, especially during peak season. The remaining balance can be paid upon arrival in Huaraz.
